Senior/Lead Software Engineer – IoT (Mandarin Speaking)

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead with fluent Mandarin Chinese to join an international IoT project.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a firmware engineering team based in China, helping align technical decisions, engineering standards, and software delivery processes across distributed teams.

What you’ll do

Collaborate daily with a firmware engineering team in China
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code review oversight
• Review technical solutions and provide constructive pushback when they don’t meet production quality or protocol requirements
• Help establish and maintain strong SDLC and software quality practices
• Support CI/CD and release engineering processes, including PR workflows, automated quality checks, versioning, and release tracking
• Help teams align on engineering standards and production-ready solutions

What we’re looking for

Fluent or native Mandarin Chinese for technical communication
• Good English for working in an international environment
• Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead / Lead Engineer or strong Senior IC background
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience in either JavaScript/full-stack or embedded software development
• Experience with technical ownership, code reviews, mentoring, and technical decision-making
• Hands-on understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, release engineering, and software quality processes
• Ability to communicate technical concerns clearly, influence engineering decisions, and provide guidance to other engineers

Nice to have:

Experience with IoT, embedded systems, or firmware teams
• Embedded C/C++ and RTOS experience
• Node.js, React, or React Native experience
• IoT systems architecture experience
• Previous experience working with distributed or offshore engineering teams
