The project focuses on building and enhancing a user-driven economy, enabling individuals to earn money through various platform features. As part of a dynamic and fast-paced engineering team, you will work on high-impact projects at the intersection of backend systems, monetization, and platform scalability.
Requirements:
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a BE engineer (Go/Python/Rust/Ruby) – 2 past years with primary focus towards Go.
- Python experience is a great plus
- Knowledge of basic datastore technologies (cassandra, Redis, postgres)
- Experienced with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift, gRPC and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
- Familiarity with SQL
- Familiarity with unit testing and other automated testing.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain scalable backend services that power the entire advertising stack
- Own critical systems including Python, Go, and Kafka infrastructure
- Own the developer tooling and testing framework that enables team velocity
- Architect APIs and data models that other teams across Reddit depend on
- Ensure 99.9%+ uptime for services handling high-volume campaign operations
- Build monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling for mission-critical advertising infrastructure
Overlap time requirements: till 11 AM PST
