About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a growing Consumer Data Science team within a large-scale technology product.
The team leverages data to build robust data foundations, define metrics, generate strategic insights, and apply experimentation, machine learning, and statistical modeling to solve challenging product problems.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing and applying advanced Data Science models and methods. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Data Scientists to identify opportunities, define metrics, and build solutions that drive significant product impact.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and apply Data Science solutions to inform improvements across major consumer product areas, including Feeds, Search, Growth, and Content Ecosystem
Create data assets, including new tables and self-service dashboards, to enable partners to answer their own data questions
Create reporting dashboards for product and engineering partners to understand topline metric movements and deep dive into specific areas of interest
Analyze large-scale datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to define product requirements and translate them into Data Science solutions
Uncover strategic insights and share them with stakeholders to shape future product directions
Develop ML models and Data Science methods to improve anomaly detection, prediction, and pattern recognition
Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization
Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
Strong understanding of:
Statistical modeling
Machine learning algorithms
Causal inference
Experimental design
Experience with large-scale data processing and analysis using tools such as Spark, Hadoop, or Hive
Knowledge of BigQuery is a plus
Strong experience with SQL and relational databases
Advanced SQL and Python skills are a must
Proficiency in Python or R
Experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
Experience working with Big Data
Exceptional product sense
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners
Nice to have
Experience working in the Consumer Technology space
Experience with causal inference and A/B testing
