
Akvelon is looking for a Middle Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a long-term project focused on a large-scale Terminal Operating System used to manage container and Ro-Ro terminal operations worldwide.
The platform supports complex, business-critical workflows including import/export operations, gate transactions, EDI processing, billing and invoicing, and customer-facing web services. It also integrates with automated gate systems, OCR, RFID, financial platforms, and data analytics solutions.
You will join a distributed international engineering team and focus on building and maintaining reliable E2E and API test automation.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated E2E and API tests using Java
- Build and support UI test automation with Selenide
- Develop and maintain test infrastructure in Dockerized environments
- Perform API testing and validate REST/JSON-based services
- Work with PostgreSQL for data validation and test scenarios
- Collaborate closely with software engineers and QA team members
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Expand automated coverage for complex business and integration workflows
- Investigate failures, identify defects, and support regression testing
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and release validation
- Contribute to test environment stability, documentation, and continuous improvements
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in QA Automation / SDET roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Java for test automation
- Practical experience with Selenide, Selenium, or another WebDriver-based framework
- Experience with API test automation (REST/JSON, REST Assured or similar)
- Experience working with Docker and containerized test environments
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and ability to write SQL queries for data validation
- Strong understanding of E2E testing principles, test design, and automation best practices
- Ability to investigate issues and work effectively with developers
- English level sufficient for communication within an international team
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems
- Experience testing highly integrated or distributed systems
- Knowledge of EDI formats
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or terminal management domains
- Experience maintaining automated tests across multiple release branches
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
