Lead Azure Cloud Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Technical Lead to join a long-term project and lead a team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will work with Azure cloud infrastructure, application development, security, and engineering processes while leading the team and supporting technical decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team
  • Drive technical decisions and provide technical guidance to the team
  • Stay hands-on with engineering tasks
  • Work with Azure cloud infrastructure and services
  • Support and improve cloud security
  • Work with C#/.NET applications and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Manage infrastructure using Terraform and/or BicepWork with Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD processes

Requirements

  • 2+ years of technical/team leadership experience
  • Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure background
  • Azure: Subscriptions, RBAC, VNets, NSGs, Firewalls, Key Vault, Storage, App Services/Functions, AKS
  • C#/.NET
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and/or Bicep
  • JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Good understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security.
  • Strong English communication skills

  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud
  • Python

Location & Work Format

Location:  Hybrid — Redmond, WA. Candidates outside the Greater Seattle area should be willing to relocate.
Employment: Full-time, 40 hours per week, W-2 employment. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Expected start date: September 1, 2026
Working hours: PST business hours

Pay range: $55–60/hour. The range represents the hourly base pay Akvelon reasonably expects to offer for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation may depend on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
